Location research- the woods
I researched films that are set in the woods because our setting is in the woods.
Some people think that the woods is a cliche and obvious location for a thriller because woods are usually seen as a scary place. However so much can be done in a woods, for example it is a good place to discover a body, as there are many hiding places. Also camera shots from behind trees can be used to look as if someone is being watched. The leaves can be good when a person is walking because it emphaises the footsteps or the running which creates tension. The woods is overall has a chilling atmoshphere because you never know whats lurking.
This is a clip from 'Don't go into the woods'. I particularly liked the part which i chopped.

shots of location
Piory close woods. We liked this location as it had a path way for our actor to walk on which makes it more realistic that someone was walking through a woods. We assessed the area for health and safety and decided it was safe to fim there as it was flat ground where we were and there was not many twigs and logs we could trip over.

Behind the scenes
This is our timeline for our sequence. We made sure it reflected title sequences of real films. The films we studied always started with the production company name and then the music started to play. The director was the first title to appear most commonly followed by the name of the film. Every film we studied differed sightly however the general order was producer second, actors, music by, editor and cinematographer comes after all of these titles. However if the actor was well know there name could appear straight after the name of the film. For example, Leonardo Dicaprio in Inception. Also, in se7en Brad Pitt and Morgan Freemans name appear at 0.16 and 0.20 seconds which is earlier than actors in other films. Actors always appeared on a black background but the rest of the titles appeared over images. The music played throughout the whole sequence.
